¶ Getting Started
This guide presumes you have downloaded one of the ISO files found on the main page.
You will also need to ensure secure boot and csm are disable in your UEFI settings.
¶ Copying the ISO to a USB drive
You will need to copy the ISO to a USB drive, this can be done several ways. The ways we recommend are:
- Belena Etcher
- Fedora Media Writer
- dd via terminal
- Rufus (if on windows)
- Gnome disk writer
Ventoy is currently not compatible with PikaOS. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future.
Once you have burned PikaOS to your USB drive and booted to the USB proceed to the next section.
¶ Booting the ISO
This is simple, once you see the bird logo appear after booting just hit enter to boot the installer environment.
¶ Follow the installer
You should then (after a bit of a wait) be greeted by our installer.
Click the Install Distro to System button then follow the guided install all the way to the end. It should then prompt you to reboot, please do so.
¶ First boot
After it has rebooted and you are once again greeted by the friendly bird, please hit enter to boot the system.
You should now get the first boot wizard pop up once the desktop has loaded.
Hit let's start and follow it to the end.
Once it prompts you to do so please hit reboot.
¶ Welcome to PikaOS
Congratulations your installation is now complete! You should now reboot into your new PikaOS system and be greeted with the Pika Hub application to guide you further!
